Blepharitis is an eye condition that results in inflammation of the eyelids. The inflammation is usually caused when the tiny oil-producing glands in your eyelids, known as meibomian glands, become blocked.

Though blepharitis doesn’t cause permanent damage to your eyesight and is not contagious, the symptoms can be uncomfortable and affect your daily life. Symptoms include:
